The Mediterranean ends where olive trees stop growing

UNESCO acknowledges extra virgin olive oil as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which is high praise for our way of eating and living... the cornerstone of Mediterranean cultural heritage, and at the Ntra. Sra. de GUADALUPE Olive Oil Producer we always defended these exceptional nutritional concepts.
Historically speaking, Andalusia was the first region in Spain and Europe to start producing olive oil; it is further the largest land extension in Spain, at 60% and produces approximately 80% of all the olive oil in the country. Spain produces the most amount of olive oil in the world, at approximately 1,400,000 tons (2010/2011) of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Source: Ministry of the Rural and Marine Environment; Olive Oil Agency).
